The Science Behind CoolSculpting
The basis of CoolSculpting was discovered by scientists at Harvard University – when they noticed that some children who ate ice popsicles got dimples on their cheeks.
This discovery then led to the realization that cold temperatures can selectively damage small pockets of fat cells. Having been the first to be successfully cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)1, the procedure has been safely performed upon millions of people all over the world. It has over 50 peer-reviewed medical papers on the science and results of CoolSculpting2 and over 8 million treatment cycles3.
How does it work?
CoolSculpting uses vacuum pressure to draw the tissue into an applicator cup between the cooling panels and relies upon the patented cooling technology to target the fat cells in temperatures as low as -13° C, under controlled conditions.
Under the impact of extremely low temperatures, the fat cells in the targeted areas then crystallize and die. They are later ejected through the body’s natural waste disposal mechanism.
The procedure results in a significant reduction in the fat layer thickness below the skin surface, leading to a more well-proportioned physique.
For faster results, we also offer the option of DualSculpting – a procedure that simultaneously targets two areas, because we don’t intend to let time constraints limit your fight against fat.

The latest CoolSculpting applicator features an enhanced cup design with an a larger cooling feature to increase the direct contact with the tissues and also to maximise patient comfort. With the direct application, treatment time is also reduced significantly.

After a detailed body assessment is completed by our Body Specialist, he will then evaluate and assess the suitable treatment plan for you and review the results you can expect from this procedure.
A detailed body assessment will be conducted by our Body Specialist, taking into account your needs and goals.
To ensure accuracy during your treatment, your body assessment will comprise of the following:
- 360° 3D Imaging
- 2D 6-position baseline
- InBody weight
- Body fat analysis
- Tape circumferential measurements
- Caliper readings
The procedure’s framework will be assessed and marked on the targeted area(s).
As your treatment day approaches, we’ll walk you through and prepare you for what to expect and we’ll be available to address any concerns that you might have before your treatment.
The appropriate applicator will be placed onto the targeted area according to your tailored treatment plan. As the technology only targets fat cells, you may be rest assured that the surrounding tissues will not be affected.

A non-invasive shockwave therapy that uses low-energy acoustic wave pulsations is applied onto the treated areas to break up the fat cells.
This process also helps to enhance circulation and stimulates lymphatic drainage, which increases the elimination of destroyed fat cells.
